A general support grant to establish the Center for International Law and Policy in Africa and support its institutional foundation, early programming and long-term mission.
The Establishment of a Center for International Law and Policy in Africa Project supported the creation and institutional development of CILPA. Through general support from the Open Society Foundations, the project helped establish CILPA as a platform for advancing African perspectives in international and regional law.
The project contributed to the Centre’s foundational work, including institutional setup, early programme development, research planning and the creation of a framework for legal scholarship, policy engagement and capacity building.
The project helped lay the foundation for CILPA’s role as a leading African-focused centre for international law research, policy engagement, legal training and institutional dialogue.
